Access to medications is the number one health care need in America. CMAP's staff helps guide MedBank members through the complex steps required to access free medication from over 100 pharmaceutical companies. This assistance provides many chronically ill patients with medications that would be otherwise unaffordable.

You may qualify for pharmaceutical assistance IF:

  • You are a resident in one of the following Georgia counties: Appling, Bacon, Brantley, Bryan, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Ware and Wayne
  • You have no prescription drug coverage
  • Your health insurance does not cover medications
  • You receive Medicare benefits but do NOT qualify for extra help through Medicare Part D, or
  • You receive Medicare benefits but did NOT enroll in a Medicare Part D plan
  • You meet income requirements. (Pharmaceutical companies determine their own financial requirements. Typically, income requirments are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, but some companies allow a higher level of income. (see table below))
  • Your prescribing physician has signed an agreement to participate in the MedBank program.

You will not qualify for pharmaceutical assistance IF:

  • You do not have a doctor who you see on a regular basis
  • You do not have a doctor who participates in the MedBank program. (Doctors in the emergency room at the hospital or those at immediate care centers do not qualify.)
  • You have any type of drug coverage including health insurance, Medicaid and some drug discount card programs.
  • You receive Medicare benefits and have reached the coverage gap in your Medicare Part D plan.

Q: When are the MedBank offices open?
A: Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: No. You may call 912-554-3559 ext. 22 and speak to an enroller about the enrollment process.

Q: What type of documentation do I need to provide?

  1. Medicaid denial letter
  2. Your federal tax return (a copy of the original 1040 form with the profit and loss statement)
  3. Paycheck stubs for one month (if paid weekly you need 4 stubs, if paid every two weeks you need 2 stubs)
  4. Letters from family members or friends who may be helping you pay bills (food, housing, utilities, etc.)
  5. Other statements that document benefits such as food stamps, Social Security, AFDC (Aid to Families with Dependent Children), unemployment, annuities, retirement, VA benefits, or child support

Q: Are there any costs involved?
A: Yes. All medications are free, but there is a small monthly membership fee to cover the cost of processing applications. Based on your income, this fee ranges from $0 to $15 per month. There is no limit on the number of medications ordered.

Q: What pharmaceuticals are covered?
A: Most medications generally used to treat chronic illnesses.
